Le Troiane

Directed by

October, 2018. In a single night the windstorm Vaia uprooted 14 million trees, transforming woodlands into an apocalyptic landscape, with incalculable economic and environmental losses. In Carnia (Friuli), one of the hardest hit areas, 400 tree trumps were collected and hauled to the Greek theater, Syracuse, where they were used to build the scene designed by architect Stefano Boeri for Euripedes’ The Trojans. The film gives a multifaceted account of the timber transport from north to south.
