What is a WWI submarine doing under the Ponte Isabella in Turin? To answer this question, Morandini takes us on a journey down the Po river, by bike and canoe, in 13 stages along nearly 700 km to Venice, passing through Pavia, Cremona, Mantua, Ferrara and the Po Delta. From the accounts narrated by the people he encounters along the way, Morandini creates a collage of settings (industrial zones, rice fields, weirs, ports, landing stages, and closed nuclear power plants) and cinematographic images.
