La terra mi tiene

Directed by

Philosophy graduate Ivan Di Palma returns to his homeland in Atena Lucana, in the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park, to sow the "grains of the future." Despite the hard work, Ivan becomes a farmer thanks to the help of the community around him, thus rediscovering the thread that connects him to the experience of his ancestors. Teresa Vallone is an elderly farmer who emigrated to Germany in the 1950s, abandoning the countryside to improve the living conditions of her children. Two different generations, two stories that alternate and intertwine as they follow the cycle of the seasons and the life of a grain of wheat, from sowing to harvesting. They wonder about the past, the present, but above all the future of the land they will leave to their children
