La città delle sirene

Directed by

On 12 November 2019 Venice was struck by the worst flooding in its history. Hurricane winds of over 100 km/h battered the city, raising a high tide that covered Piazza San Marco, the city’s iconic square and lowest point, under a meter of water. The images of the devastating flooding shook public opinion. Starting from home and his own studio, Pelligrini gives a first-person account of what it’s like living with high water and what the Venetians do when it happens. The film reflects on living at the frontline of climate change and the threats to our world, of which Venice is a sentinel.
