I volti della Via Francigena
Directed by
The route from the Great St. Bernard Pass to Rome crosses seven regions in Italy - the Via Francigena, the ancient pilgrim trail that once connected Canterbury with the ports of Puglia, has recently been rediscovered. As we walk its thousand kilometers, we meet the various people who help the walkers on their way: pilgrims, hostel custodians, ferrymen, volunteers, and friars: from writer and psychoathlete Enrico Brizzi to Movimento Lento founder Alberto Conte, to historian Giovanni Caselli, to Confraternita di San Jacopo di Compostella rector Paolo Caucci von Saucken, and the abbot of the Abbey of Saint-Maurice.
