I Have Always Been a Dreamer

To what extent do production models shape the physical landscape? And what is their impact on the local population? Enlisting expert opinion of academics, artists and historians, Sabine Gruffat constructs a visual documentation of two emblematic cities - Detroit and Dubai – to reveal the political, cultural and social ideologies of two distinct eras: Fordist and Post-Fordist. Equally clearly emerge the effects of economic monoculture on the local community.
