Guardians of the Earth

Directed by

The Paris Agreement (COP 21) is a milestone in history that will influence decades to come. For the first time 195 nations were committed to take action against climate change. The film gives views behind closed doors of the negotiations. While showing the complex progress to the final success, it reveals the conflict of a globalized society: the dilemma between solidarity versus national self-interest – a fight between economic growth and loss of rights and human lives. The reflections of negotiators, specialists, and activists raise a crucial question for the viewer: can this agreement really match the challenge of our times?
