Greensburg

Directed by

In May 2007, Greenburg, Kansas, U.S.A., was destroyed by one of the worst tornados in American history. The film (co-produced by Leonardo DiCaprio) recounts the city's reconstruction according to eco-sustainable criteria and how the population gained greater awareness of environmental issues. Focusing on the experience of local residents (over 1500 were forced to leave their homes), the film is a true chronicle, part technical, part emotional, of the reconstruction efforts. Among those involved in the project was John Picard, technology and energy expert, and consultant for sustainable construction in North America and Asia.
