Gake no ue no Ponyo

Directed by

Sosuke, a five-year-old boy, lives on a reef. On the beach one morning he finds Ponyo, a goldfish with its head stuck in a jelly jar. Sosuke frees the fish and puts it in a green plastic pail. A friendship starts up between the boy and the fish, in which they share adventures and break magic spells in a symbolic journey toward saving the seas and life itself.
