It might not take nature’s beauty but rather sex to save the world. Or so think Tommy Hol Ellingsen and Leona Johansson who founded the first non-profit environmental erotic organization in Berlin in 2004. Singular in its mission to advance the ecology agenda with neohippy sexual liberation, the idea is to use the profits from the sale of amateur pornographic material in order to buy acres of the Amazon forest and thus protect the future of the planet. A further objective is to save the fate of the indigenous population at risk of extinction from the widespread destruction of one of the world’s pristine natural areas.
