Energie in movimento. Gagliano Aterno, paese del futuro

Directed by
The film is set in Gagliano Aterno, one of sixteen villages in the Sirentina mountain community in the province of l’Aquila. Since the 1960s its population has fallen by nearly 80%. Something has started to change, however. Through the launch of sustainability projects promoted by Luca Santilli, the new mayor, and with the support and entrepreneurship of the remaining villagers, the course of events has changed. The village (population, 250) has become a renewable energy community, a virtuous example of social innovation and economy. The story is told by the people who turned their village around.
