About the Movie Energia

«Thanks to the collaboration with some leading Italian cartoonists, supported by a staff of experts in different fields, RAI EDUCATIONAL has produced 75 short-length animated films on crucial human development issues. They are breezy, ironic and speak a simple language which even the youngest children will understand. These films are about rights, democracy, information and participation, environment and sustainable development, health safety, big and small emergencies, territorial planning, transport and road education.

CinemAmbiente [CinemAmbiente 2000] has selected 8 short-length films of this important educational project, directed by Alessandro Belli and Bruno Bozzetto, among the ones concerning the environment and the sustainable development».

«Development is said to be sustainable when it respects nature and environment. Sustainable development is an important and difficult issue today: important because our chances of proving environmental conditions depend on the decisions and behaviour we adopt now and in the future; difficult because even though they concern a growing number of people, environmental problems are often perceived as something too far away, which does not regard us and personally, something governments and public authorities should deal with and that does not involve us or our personal choices». (Giulio Conte, The Environment and the Sustainable Development, Cartoons Animated by Best Intentions, RAI Educational)
