Earth protectors

The director's first feature film focuses on the human impact on the environment at the time of this new geological era known as the Anthropocene: from forest fires to floods, from pollution to the spread of a virus capable of paralyzing the entire world. As she travels around the world, the director gathers evidence of the urgency for change that will transform the relationship between humans and nature and meets a new generation of women and men who work constantly to save our planet, without regard for wars or borders. The narrative revolves around these young “protectors of the Earth”, who are the proof of how the power of commitment and action can have a concrete and positive impact on our future.
The idea of the Protectors of the Earth came to me gradually over time. The more I travelled, the more I met these extraordinary people, engaged in ambitious and innovative projects in often extreme environments. Through these experiences, a recurring image began to take shape: the lives of these young people who loved their region and their culture and were taking action to protect it. Their stories became bigger than just the artistic narrative. They were also such a positive example for me that I decided they could be for others as well. In the film I present some very different types of Earth Protectors, from different continents, with completely different activities and scope of action. I want you to know that anyone can become an Earth Protector. They are not victims, but agents of change. I would say that at a time when many people are investing in research and space travel, they are looking for ways and solutions to save our planet. They did not give up, they chose Earth. I don't see how we can not choose Earth.
