Coral Ghosts

Directed by

An account of 60 years of underwater photography through the lens of marine biologist Tom Goreau. Underwater photography is an ideal tool to study and protect the coral reefs around the world. Goreau inherited his interest in coral reefs from his family. For the first time he opens the huge photo archives he and his father put together. The images show evidence of direct and indirect damage to the reefs caused by human activities. The journey starts in a dusty attic in Cambridge before taking us to the beaches of Jamaica, Bali, and the Bikini atoll, where Goreau carries out his research.
