Having abandoned Swallow Falls due to the disastrous food storm he caused, Flint Lockwood agrees to join the Live Corp Company, founded by his idol Chester V, where the world's most brilliant inventors are busy researching and creating new technologies to improve the lives of all humanity. But when the young scientist discovers that his most famous invention, a machine capable of turning water into food, is still working and is creating strange food-animal hybrids, he must return to the island to face foodimals like tacodiles, orang-utans, rattle pies, and spiderburgers to save the world once again.
