Chasing Ice

Directed by

Spring 2007. National Geographic photographer James Balog, skeptical about the ominous scenarios scientists had projected of global warming, went to the North Pole to photograph the effects of climate change. The documentation would be one of the magazine’s most read articles, leading to the launch of the Extreme Ice Survey, the most extensive photographic documentation of glaciers carried out so far, which will follow annual environmental changes in the Arctic and around the world. The soundtrack includes Before My Time sung by Scarlett Johansson.
