Bobby

Directed by

Wind turbines dot the hills of Irpinia inhabited by the descendants of farm dogs, once cherished family members. One of them is Bobby, which belonged to the director’s grandparents. Bobby wanders the abandoned countryside, while they return to the home of their youth, where memories lie buried beneath earthquake rubble, ready to emerge when Bobby calls, a silent testimony to a world that seems to have disappeared but lives on in memory.

About the Movie Bobby

Marechiaro - The Man and the Beast

The short film was made with the support of the "Making a Film" call for proposals within the "The Man and the Beast" participatory film format, conceived by Antonietta De Lillo and produced by Marechiarofilm, with the contribution of the MIC.

The format was created with the aim of encouraging young filmmakers to create their own documentary films through the support and network that participatory filmmaking creates. By sharing creative processes and bringing together professionals from different generations, participatory filmmaking stimulates reflection and practice in the field of contemporary documentary in all its possible forms of hybridization and experimentation, also thanks to the use of new digital technologies, and with a view to eco-friendly cinema, based on circularity and reuse.

Endangered by human actions, the diversity of species is crucial to the harmony of the interconnected ecosystems we inhabit: the implications of its loss and why this issue affects more than just those that go extinct.
