Blood Scales

Directed by

Pangolins are among the most trafficked mammals. Eight species, four African and four Asian, are listed as critically endangered on the ICUN Red List of threatened species. The film follows the chief investigator of the Last Great Ape organization (LEGA), Cameroon, as he tracks down an illegal wildlife trade organization with 550 pounds of pangolin scales. The events that led to his involvement are interwoven with the investigations for which he is responsible. A tree pangolin fights to regain strength after receiving treatment at the Tikki Hywood Foundation.
