Black Out

Directed by

Every day in Conkary, Guinea, during the school exam sessions, at sundown, hundreds of young students begin their pilgrimage in search of electric light, finding it at service stations, airports or the city’s wealthy neighborhoods. Only one fifth of the country’s inhabitants has access to electric power: a social emergency that damages the economy and places the population at disadvantage in nearly every way. Without electricity, young people will find it hard to benefit from the emancipation culture and education bring. The only tool they have to build a better future.
