Andre, an autistic boy with a passion for the bats that live in the motorway subway near his home, is shocked when he realises one day that they have suddenly disappeared. Distressed by the incident and determined to understand the cause, the young man asks a biologist for help, who, after initial hesitations, engages in the search and arrives at a disconcerting truth.
