Akustination

Directed by

A kaleidoscopic round trip through Brandenburg's verdant countryside and Berlin's hectic traffic and back again: old growth forests and immense open spaces dotted with closed factories, the remnants of a past age, ominous power plants still in operation, and wind turbines rising above the plain. In this collage of images and sound, colors and effects, Nele Kornrupf and Silke Springe give a dynamic portrait of time's helical structure where past and present, growth and decay recur in a repetitive cycle.

«We intended to provoke certain feelings through the audio layer and then chose adequate footage for it which we shot in our next surroundings. We found that cruising around certain areas of Berlin, and Brandenburg especially, gives one a feeling of not being entirely stuck but somehow or other hanging in the air. In many respects, therefore, the film reflects the Zeitgeist of our world as subject to a spiral of acceleration, reproduction and decay».
