Acquabella – The Dying Farm

Directed by

Just outside Milan is the Cascina Acquabella farm, a strip of farmland between malls and residential highrises. The last descendant of the family, the property administrator, recounts the transformation of a once florid family farm to a remnant plot threatened by cementification and globalization. Elena Galbiati retells the history of her family, their migration from southern Italy, local traditions, and her friendship with singer Al Bano Carrisi, who would rehearse his songs at the farm before he became famous.
