biography
He was born in Prague in 1947. After graduating at the Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film in Munich he travelled to Asia and South America. In 1973 he started making documentaries. Several retrospectives on his work have been presented at film festivals in Amsterdam, Calcutta, Chicago and Washington.
