150,000 individual drawings by 250 animators working in 8 animation studios around the world to tell the real story - through the words of an old African sage surrounded by a group of children sitting in the shade of a baobab – of Zarafa, the first giraffe to arrive in Europe, as a gift from the pasha of Egypt to Charles X of France in 1827, to obtain support against the Turkish siege of Alexandria in Egypt. In the Italian version, Vinicio Capossela participated in the dubbing and also wrote the original song, Zarafa giraffa, which can be heard at the end of the film.
