When Elephants Dance, the Grass Gets Beaten

Directed by

Nearly three-quarters of Cambodia's entire agricultural land has been sold over time to large multinational industrial companies, whose produce is destined exclusively for export. This is devastating for local production and farmers, who are forced to abandon their lands and emigrate to neighboring countries like Thailand in search of better living conditions. This is also happening to Moon's fellow villagers, whose wedding is being celebrated in his village near the Khmer temple of Angkor Wat, which stands within a UNESCO World Heritage site and is the true symbol of the country, appearing on the national flag.
