When he left Abruzzo, Jacopo was young and too restless to bear long silent pauses and empty occasions. But during his world wanderings he dreamed a dream: to transform his homeland into a huge cannabis field for growing the plant with a newly recognized therapeutic value. After calling together his old friends, he is ready to fight against the entrenched prejudices of an area hard beset by massive migration starting in the 1950s and a chronic lack of employment opportunities. Effort, devotion, patience: only in this way can the land be opened and the local folk with it. The adventure of Jacopo and his friends begins: the company starts to grow and expand, giving voice to ordinary people in search of something, life stories that sprout and thrive in the good earth, where silence is but a moment of rest from a hard day’s work.
