Revenge of the Electric Car

Directed by

In 2006 Chris Paine told the story of how the upper echelons of politics and finance had put an end to the dream of the electric car. In the meantime, the automobile industry has taken a U-turn. Paine picks up the story on the carmakers’ new interest, with interviews with Bob Lutz of General Motors, Elon Musk, young millionaire and founder of Tesla Motors, and Carlos Goshn, chairman and CEO of the Renault-Nissan Alliance, who announced in 2009 the production of Leaf, a low-cost electric vehicle, and enlisted Hollywood testimonials such as Tim Robbins and Danny DeVito.
