A brief history of humanity's relationship with oil-based energy sources from its origins to the present: from the discovery of the possibility of heating and cooking food with fire, to the more paradoxical methods used since then to extract fuels from plants (olives) and even animals (seals and whales), up until the discovery of oil and the birth of the industrial age. But what will happen when every last oil field is exhausted?
