At the beginning of time, a man and a woman set off to conquer an inhospitable world in the hope of changing it into an earthly paradise. But their efforts have consequences for the environment; over the course of years and centuries the impact and the costs of civilization and progress take an ever heavier toll, perhaps ultimately leading to an apocalyptic end.
