La part du Papillon

Directed by

This serious yet entertaining short mixes animation with documentary to address a pressing issue: the rich countries' greed for energy. The film uses the testimony of field experts, also filmed during their everyday activities, to illustrate the causes, closely related to Western consumerism, and the consequences of a complex problem that involves ever more air pollution and ever fewer energy resources. The solution may be found very close to home: simply changing our (bad) habits of using too much energy.

«The authors are unemployed women. They wanted to make an animated short film about our hyper-consumerist society, to reflect on how we could protect ourselves and the planet».
