La dea ferita (Vandana Shiva)

Directed by

“In India, the Great Mother fought against terrifying demons. Today, a new kind of calamity threatens her. This time, the Great Mother stirs up her direct descendants: women”.

The Indian scientist and philosopher Vandana Shiva is the environmental-feminist movement's spokesperson. Like the goddess Durga, she opposes fierce resistance to the destruction of the environment and genetic engineering in favour of the rights of indigenous people. This is the fourth of five episodes about Woman and Nature in India, made by Swiss Italian Television.
