L'homme aux serpents

Directed by

Franz Florez drives a bus loaded with snakes and shows them to curious bystanders during rest stops. Venturing deeper into the countryside, he soon encounters dangers far more perilous than his passengers: guerrillas fighting government forces for decades, coca farmers, an Indio harboring secrets, and a middle-aged environmental activist. By journey's end he arrives at a paradox: perhaps the civil war raging in Colombia is the only means to protect the country's extraordinary natural biodiversity.

Endangered by human actions, the diversity of species is crucial to the harmony of the interconnected ecosystems we inhabit: the implications of its loss and why this issue affects more than just those that go extinct.
