Every day over 100,000 square meters of farmland, fields and woods of the Padan Plain are lost to new housing developments, shopping malls, and industrial zones due to re-zoning motivated by politics and profit. Mistaken for a sign of progress, the accelerated rate of land consumption in the last 10 years is drastically changing the physical landscape.
