A wolf pup lies curled up in a blanket resting against a human hand. The gentle rock of the car seems to lull it to sleep. After it was found alone on a trail, it is now being brought to a wildlife rescue center. A few days later, another pup arrives; the two will spend over a year at the refuge until they have grown enough to be released back to the wild. The film recounts the story of two wolves and tries to discover what the animals experienced during their time together with humans. Are they able to understand human commands? Do they perceive time, captivity, and return to nature? Do they perceive a feeling of freedom?
