One day the dragons guarding the western border of Earthsea suddenly invade the archipelago, which is inhabited only by humans. A disease strikes the animal herds, magic loses its power and the world loses its balance. Frightened by these strange events, the people turn to Ged, a young shepherd, who becomes a powerful, respected wizard and an expert dragon tamer. Ged starts off on a quest to discover the mysterious dark force behind the ills besetting Earthsea. Based on Ursula K. Le Guin's series, Earthsea and Hayao Miyazaki's Shuna's Journey.

«I think I first read Ursula Le Guin's Earthsea about 20 years ago when I was still a student. What unites her works is the positive message: men and women support one another and one can always start over at any age. If I wanted to add something, I'd say that we need to learn to live in harmony with the earth. We are straying from the paths others before us have set down. Uncontrolled growth and rapid urbanization have fostered the idea that we can predict and control our surroundings. I believe that when we realize and accept that man is powerless against the forces of nature we'll all live better.
