Demi-vie à Fukushima

Directed by

On 3 March 2011 a tsunami struck Japan’s east coast, seriously damaging the nuclear power plant in the Fukushima prefecture. The event cost the lives of many inhabitants, and forced thousands of others to leave their homes. Not everyone, however. Despite the high radioactivity levels, one man remained in the red zone. In the silence broken only by the sound of the wind, he continued to cultivate the land and feed his animals. His continued presence is seen by the government as an obstacle to erasing the event from collective memory. Yet he has become a symbol of change necessary for all of humanity.
