Cronaca di una vita semplice

Gianfranco is thirty-six years old and lives in Bardenghi, a small hamlet in the Stura di Demonte Valley in the province of Cuneo. Forced to find a job in a factory to survive, he refuses to abandon the small village where he was born, just as he refuses to resign himself to seeing the hamlets disappear into nature. Every day, he climbs to Bardenghi, where he raises sheep, rabbits, geese, and chickens, as well as growing potatoes and harvesting chestnuts. He strives to maintain the local woods and keep this small hamlet alive, hoping one day to see other families return to live in those homes where an entire community once lived.
