Common Ground

Directed by
Awaited sequel to Kiss the Ground, which has been seen by over a million spectators around the world and helped persuade the US Department of Agriculture to budget 1 billion US$ toward soil health, this film combines journalistic enquiry with personal accounts of people fighting for food security. It reveals the ties between money, power, and politics behind the food supply chain crisis and depicts how the racist tactics in current agricultural production are slowly destroying the livelihood of farmers. However, a new movement is emerging in support of ‘regenerative’ agriculture, which is also voiced in the film by stars such as Laura Dern, Jason Momoa, Rosario Dawson and Woody Harrelson.
