A forlorn rabbit in a garbage dump tries to attract someone's attention and is eventually saved by a little Indian boy. The two become friends and embark on a journey to a nearby city, where their misadventures continue amidst the complete indifference of the people around them. In the end, they are joined by a third friend, a tipsy penguin, who is unwittingly drawn into their next adventure.
