Larry works for an animal shelter but his real passion is taxidermy, which he pursues in his free time. His home is full of stuffed animals that give him companionship in his otherwise lonely and empty existence. One night he finds a small dog by the name of Sammy which is still alive the following day: this marks the beginning of a new friendship and a radical change in Larry's life.
