A director, screenwriter, and cinematographer, since the 1990s he has been making popular science documentaries about the wildlife and indigenous peoples of the Far North, Siberia, and the Russian Far East. His numerous internationally awarded films include Kotujkan - River which flows from past (2001), Wonderers of the North (2003), Wooden Dollars of Primorje (2003), and The Return of the Musk Ox (2008).
