Regista, sceneggiatore e direttore della fotografia, dagli anni Novanta realizza documentari divulgativi scientifici sulla fauna selvatica e sulle popolazioni indigene dell'Estremo Nord, della Siberia e dell'Estremo Oriente russo. Tra i suoi numerosi film, premiati a livello internazionale, si ricordano Kotujkan - River which flows from past (2001), Wonderers of the North (2003), Wooden Dollars of Primorje (2003), The Return of the Musk Ox (2008).
