He won an award from CNN Africa for Walk to Womanhood (2004), an investigation into female genital mutilation in small African communities. He has covered the entire continent for Al Jazeera and Channel 4 News. For BBC Africa Eye he directed Suicide Stories (2019), The Baby Stealers (2020), on minor trafficking, and the feature I Am Samuel (2020) on homosexuality in Kenya.
