He made his first feature documentary, Sex Stars, in 1977, followed by D.O.A. (1980), a rockumentary about the Sex Pistols, Born To Lose: The Last Rock and Roll Movie (1999), Hey! Is Dee Dee Home? (2002) and East of Paradise, screened at the 2005 Venice Film Festival.
