biography
È nato a Berlino Ovest nel 1965. Dal 1984 al 1991 ha studiato presso l'Accademia delle Belle Arti di Amburgo, dove ha conseguito una laurea in Visual Communication, ottenendo poi, nel 1994, una borsa di studio per ultimare la propria formazione a Chicago. Dal 1990 lavora come filmmaker, ma anche come cameraman, sia per il cinema che per la televisione: ha diretto I cortometraggi Im Dunkel Der Projection (1986), Schacht (1988), Desolatesse (1989, co-regia di Rasmus Gerlach), Splitter (1991), Ruinen (1993), Rad (2001), Depressionismus (2001), Zielpunkte Der Stadt (2004), Lebensgeister (2004) e il film televisivo Hier Bin Ich-Meidner (1990). Dal 2003 è docente presso l'Accademia delle Belle Arti di Amburgo.
