biography
He is an internationally renowned film and theatre director. His numerous awards include the Giuliani De Negri prize at the Venice International Film Festival and the Maria Adriana Prolo lifetime achievement award. A lecturer in Cinema of Reality at the C.S.C. in Rome, in 2015 he was awarded the diploma Honoris Causa for ‘Topical Historical Reportage’. His most recent works include Ragazzi di stadio, quarant'anni dopo (2018) and Tonino De Bernardi (2021), presented at the 78th Venice International Film Festival.
