È nato a Dorgali, in provincia di Nuoro, nel 1965. Ha esordito nel 1997 con il corto Prima della fucilazione, seguito – l'anno successivo – da Miguel. Nel 2003 ha esordito nel lungometraggio con Ballo a tre passi.
