biography
Nato in Cile nel 1949, ha vissuto a Parigi ed Amburgo dopo essere stato arrestato ed esiliato dal regime di Pinochet. Scrittore di fama, ha raggiunto la notorietà con il romanzo Il vecchio che leggeva romanzi d'amore. Ha esordito nel cinema come regista con Nowhere, un lungometraggio ispirato ad un racconto contenuto in Incontro d'amore in un paese in guerra.
