biography
He was born in Chile in 1949, lived in Paris and Hamburg after being arrested and exiled under Pinochet. The famed writer gained notoriety with his novel The Old Man Who Read Love Stories. He directed Nowhere, his first feature film, based on a story in Desencuentros.
