biography
È nato nel 1959. Nel 1986 si è diplomato presso la Netherlands Film Academy. Nel 1990 dirige il lungometraggio The Phoenix Mystery. Ha realizzato numerosi documentari, tra cui The Eye of the Day, premiato in numerosi festival internazionali, che, insieme a Shape of the Moon, forma una sorta di dittico sulla situazione indonesiana.
